Leaking Heart Happen At All People

Hello buddy healthy, heart leak or hole in the heart, often goes undetected because rarely cause specific signs or symptoms. This condition can happen to everyone unnoticed.

In adults, the heart of the leak often occurs because one of the valves can not be closed. Whereas in children or infants, cases of leaky heart can be caused by a hole between the left atrium and right not closed perfectly, although there are also children who have disorders of the heart valves.

Regurgitation

The human heart has four valves, the valve tricuspid, pulmonary, mitral, and aortic. Specialized tissue in the heart's function regulates blood flow from one section to another. Each valve consists of two or three petals that can open and close. Petal valve will open when blood is pumped between the heart chambers or pumped to another place, and closes to prevent blood back to the heart.

But there are times when the heart valve is not closed properly. As a result, the flow of blood that should have been moved to another place it back into the heart. This is called a leaky heart valve or valve regurgitation.

Leaky heart valves often do not cause symptoms but there are also some people who suddenly experience. Symptoms of heart valve leakage is visible include chest pain, palpitations, or palpitations (heart rhythm fast or irregular), shortness of breath or trouble breathing, feeling tired and weak, incapable of normal activity, dizziness, fainting, and swelling of the foot, ankle, or stomach.

Treatment of mitral valve depends on how severe the condition of the leak, if there are signs and symptoms are clear, and whether the patient's condition is getting worse. The goal of treatment is only to increase the work function of the heart. Only surgery can cure mitral valve, by repairing or replacing the valve is problematic.

It is important for patients with heart valve leaked to exercise daily (first discuss appropriate exercise levels by doctors), not smoking, and maintaining a healthy weight. Additionally, do not forget to do a regular check up with the doctor.

Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO)

Patent foramen ovale occurs when the holes between the left atrium and the right heart is not closed. Everybody has this hole since before birth, and usually heals by itself shortly after he was born. However, there are some cases in infants where the hole can not be closed.

For most patients, PFO does not pose a problem despite leaking blood from the right atrium to the left. Problems will arise when the blood that flows containing blood clots. In addition, the PFO usually does not cause signs or symptoms specific, so it is difficult to detect.

But in very rare cases, infants with a PFO may show signs such as skin turns blue when crying or defecating. These signs usually only occur if the baby is suffering from PFO and other heart diseases. While in adults, the signs can be a severe migraine, TIA (transient ischemic attack, namely the flow of blood flowing to the brain stops for a moment), or stroke.

Most patients do not require treatment PFO. However PFO can be closed surgically. The trick is to catheterization, in which a plug is inserted into the hole by using a long tube called a catheter. In addition, the hole can also be sewn shut.

Leaky heart disease often does not show signs or symptoms. Therefore, it is recommended that routinely perform a thorough examination so that any disease can be detected. If the disease is caught early, treatment and care can be started early. In this way, the success rate of treatment will increase as well.
