Treatment of Headaches

Headache treatment is done to be seen of the symptoms experienced and by cause, because not all types of headaches can be treated by taking headache medications alone.


See a doctor to diagnose health problems that cause headaches if:

Migraine Treatment

Here are some migraine medication to prevent additional attacks and relieve symptoms:

- Drinking painkillers counter or drugs that have been prescribed by a doctor for example gabapentin, atenolol or metoprolol.
- Calm down in a dark room and quiet.
- Compresses to the neck or head with cold or warm water.
- Drink less caffeine and do massage.

Treatment of tension headaches

- Using a triptan nasal spray prescribed by doctors, such as sumatriptan or zolmitriptan. This drug is sprayed into the nose.

- Inhaling 100 percent oxygen using a mask.
- Using injectable drugs such as sumatriptan to ease quickly when the attack hit.



Rebound headache treatment

Consult with your doctor to reduce the use of painkillers slowly or even stop it because it is the only way to overcome rebound headaches caused by too frequent consumption of painkillers.
