Because people in the mid-Victorian era, between 1850 and 1872 is often called the golden age society nutrients. The researchers managed to uncover what kind of diet that people have in that era.

Dr. Judith Rowbotham, scientists from the University of Playmouth authored the study along with Dr. Paul Clayton, from the Institute of Food, Brain and Behavior of nutrients Queen Victoria's era.

Rowbotham explains healthier society with stronger immune systems living in the Victorian era although they consume nearly 5,000 calories a day.

Researchers found the food in the era rich in vegetables, eat whole wheat bread with yeast that improves the immune system, less intake of alcohol and a lot of sugar. All that produces a healthier body.

Dr. Rowbotham says, "They eat onions, watercress, cabbage, beets, artichokes, apples." For fruit, the poor people in that era much to eat cherries are cheap.

They eat the meat from the bones and boil the bones to get all the nutrients. Besides the intake of protein obtained from herring, mackerel and cod. While the bread is eaten containing yeast is beneficial for the immune system.

Other foods commonly eaten by people in Victorian are apples, cherries and plums. Potatoes and large chunks of meat is a luxury item that is rarely consumed. Sugar was a luxury that is eaten only by the rich.

Victorian working class people did not smoke or drink alcohol, except beer yeast rich. Rowbotham advised us to go back to the days of Queen Victoria's diet, ie eating home cooking instead of processed foods.
